Agatti Aerodrome, located on Agatti Island in Lakshadweep, is the only airport in the archipelago that provides vital air connectivity to this remote tropical paradise. Operated by the Airports Authority of India, the aerodrome features a single runway stretching over 1,200 meters, built on a narrow strip of land between the vast Arabian Sea. The airport primarily serves domestic flights, with Air India operating regular services from Kochi, making it the primary entry point for tourists and residents traveling to Lakshadweep.

Despite its small size, Agatti Aerodrome plays a crucial role in the region’s connectivity and tourism industry. The airport’s strategic location allows travelers to access the stunning lagoons, coral reefs, and pristine beaches of Lakshadweep with ease. Due to its limited infrastructure, the airport mainly handles small aircraft like ATR-72s, ensuring a unique and scenic landing experience as planes glide just above the turquoise waters before touching down on the short runway. Efforts have been made over the years to expand and modernize the airport, with proposals to extend the runway to accommodate larger aircraft, although environmental concerns have delayed these plans.
